Job Purpose and Impact

The Food Safety and Quality Specialist will deliver process improvements to meet agreed upon customer standards and food safety requirements. In this role, you will build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and operational teams to leverage deep customer understanding.

Key Accountabilities

• Initiate and lead projects from concept to post launch review to achieve project objectives.
• Actively participate in technology meetings on new product ideation, specifications and launch.
• Report technical details during project planning, trials and during site visits on good manufacturing practices, adherence to production specification, food safety hazard analysis and critical control points, allergen control and manufacturing.
• Perform regular process audits and review and update the guides to production as well as provide training to key personnel.

• Keep track of industry best practices and trends regarding product quality and food safety.
• Support new product development in trials and implementation, technical documentation as well as training on all new products, processes and equipment.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Confirmed working knowledge of food hygiene, project management.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently and effectively as an individual and in a team environment
• Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, and cost
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with large projects extending over a period of time
• Experience conducting work in a manufacturing environment
