Food Safety Consultant
 
Field based (London / South East)
 
 
We are looking for an experienced Food Safety Consultant to join our field-based team delivering best in class services to the food sector.
 
The role will undertake Food Safety and Health & Safety related activities primarily for a leading contract food catering organisation, including management system development and reviews, risk assessment reviews and creation, site inspections, food and H&S audits, food complaint investigations and providing technical support and advice.

Responsibilities include

Write risk assessments, safe system of work, client specific policies, reports, work instructions and method statements where necessary for a wide range of Food Safety and Health and Safety matters.
To undertake a variety of site audits, risk assessments and inspections proficiently at clients’ premises
Prepare comprehensive reports including observations, recommendations and interpretation of laboratory analysis.
Investigate, produce reports and response letters for incident events including food complaints, allergic reactions and accidents (including RIDDOR level incidents).
Supporting the safe running of, and management of food safety at events.
Deliver professional and competent health and safety and food safety advice to clients.
Participate in the out of hour’s on-call rota to provide technical advice and take action as required
Liaise with project managers and account managers in relation to work under their control.
Present and discuss reports with the client, including providing direct support to client senior management.
Support responses to client work requests and proposals.
Lead and support others project work, e.g. development of new procedures
Be responsible for managing small contracts/projects within division as directed by the line manager/Project Manager and execute and complete projects on time and within budget. 
Working closely with the centralised planning team to ensure work is being effectively scheduled and carried out.

Candidate Requirements

Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety and Level 4 Award in H&S in the Workplace
Level 3 Award in HACCP
Associate member of ACIEH  
Experience overseeing Food Safety and H&S in the Contract Catering and Corporate Office environment, including site inspections and auditing
Liaison with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
Food Safety Investigations and Complaints
Accident and incident investigations and reports
Report writing and presentation
