Key Accountabilities (External)
• Demonstrate commitment in OHS to achieve company OHS standards
• Involves in reporting OHS issues and disputes to ensure a safe working environment for the units as applicable
• Ensure that occupational health and safety policies are complied by food safety assistants
• First stage verification and approval of all due diligence documents related to critical control points and pre-requisite programmes in the automation system (HMS); report deviations to the senior food safety team
• Plan and assign adequate manpower of uninterrupted operation of blast chilling process and timely handover of chilled products to production department for dishing and assembly
• Prepare a monthly roster and work assignment for FSAs
• Provide adequate induction and on the job training to the newly appointed FSAs
• Perform random spot checks in the process of East wing, West wing and CCU and Foodpoint
• Prompt response to delay flight notifications and requests for on-board temperature checks and provide temperature profiling details of meals on-board to the clients representatives
• Reduce the number of overtime hours by effective re-allocation and efficient task assignment
• Timely submission of trend analysis reports related to foreign objects
• Assist food safety specialist in investigating the potential source/root cause of critical foreign objects or food poisoning allegation in co-ordination with process owners
• Collection, preparation and dispatch of food audit samples for microbiological testing for international clients
• Conduct logger study for all return sector flights
• Manual verification of chillers and freezers
• Respond to request from international clients for receipt of foreign bodies from all aircrafts and handover to the food safety for investigation
• Collection/retrieval of all due diligence documents promptly and submit in case of allegations
• Support in Preparing and updating food safety and associated quality documents, policies and procedures related to HACCP, BRC, Halal, and other customer and regulatory food safety standards.
• Support in any other operational requirements assigned by line manager as deemed necessary
Essential Requirements and Competencies
• Graduate or Diploma in Food related course with Food Hygiene Training
Ø Able to demonstrate knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in the use of computer, especially MS Office and ERP experience
Ø Highly motivated to achieve targets and deadlines.
• Understanding of key performance indicators.
• Ability to work within a cross functional team.
• Dynamic approach with excellent organizational skills and ability to work within tight time constraints.
• Self-responsible and team player.
• Willing and able to learn.
• Minimum 3 years’ in a similar role in inflight catering or large food business establishment
