You will lead high potential business projects within a highly technical and innovative environment that are critical to the future success of Philips. You meet partners all across the Philips organization and ensure a smooth transition of your projects to our Philips business. We are looking for somebody with an affinity to drive service-related projects in an equipment-focused world, and who takes an integral end-to-end view to innovation.

You are responsible for

• Gives direction and leads complex, integral projects or Solution Release Trains, from initial phase until introduction in the Market or until internal company delivery.
• Formulating the project plan in consultation with business partner and/or hospital customers, management and other parties involved.
• Define and manage the project organization professionally with knowledge of the necessary technological aspects.
• Control the project activities in terms of quality, time, money, communication, information and organization inclusive structural reporting to all levels in the organization. Having a clear eye on value creation and (business) risk management.
• Improvement of the structured project approach continuously.
• Representing the project team in the overall project, in- and outside the organization.
• Embed results to ensure a "learning" organization.
• Mentoring of junior project leaders.

Positioned at the front-end of the innovation process, we work on everything from spotting trends and ideation to proof of concept and - where needed - first-of-a-kind product development.

The Senior Project Management department within Philips Research is a department where highly skilled project managers are clustered together and are allocated to high potential projects. Main target is to manage sophisticated projects and to have a smooth and efficient transfer to the Business.
The SPM’s get the full responsibility of the project budget and will report to the Philips Research Innovation Programs and often to the Philips Business and/or Ventures. All projects follow a strict way of working related to Budget and Milestone adherence, Risk Management, Change Control and Reporting, following PEPF processes in our QMS.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• University degree in technical or business Engineering with more than 10 years working experience in R&D or service-related domains of which at least 5 years as project manager, PMP and RTE or otherwise Agile certified.
• Experience in the Service conceptualization, implementation and scaling phase of projects and knowledge about CMMi, DFSS and Agile/Safe.
• Strong service and technical background and have experience in both technical and business issues.
• A proven track record in the Healthcare or Services market, knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO13485 is a definite plus.
• Able to gain trust and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Strong understanding of customer needs and concerns and able to translate these to the technical team.
• The ability to shape the project in such a way that it brings maximum added value to the customers as well as the business.
