Overview
The Academic Quality and Standards team manages University-level processes for course management, accreditation, quality reviews and academic policy development. It provides expert advice on the requirements of the Higher Education Threshold Standards and regulation by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) and Vocational Educational and Training requirements as regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
The Academic Quality and Standards Adviser provides support and guidance in relation to: academic governance processes; reviewing and maintaining curriculum; comprehensive course reviews and continuous improvement activities; external standards and ECU academic policy and processes; the development of an integrated approach to curriculum planning and quality improvement across the University; and supporting the ECU response to external quality audits by regulators or government.
This role is also responsible for working on specific projects and initiatives to identify opportunities to enhance practice and align processes to support a streamlined approach to quality assurance and standards reporting.
The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified with the following demonstrated capabilities:
High level communication skills with the ability to produce high quality briefings, papers and reports
Thorough knowledge of the external legislative and policy frameworks affecting higher education providers (i.e HESF, ESOS)
Project planning and implementation skills with the ability to plan, manage and implement projects
Data analysis and system management skills
Customer management skills with the ability to develop internal and external working relationships
Strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement practical solutions to key issues

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, fixed term position attracts a remuneration of $93,378 TO $ 104,628 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
