About The Role

Working Hours: Shift working on a night rota - four nights on, four nights off (Annualised Hours)

The Markets Service currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager to join the team at New Smithfield Market, Whitworth Street East, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 2WJ. 
New Smithfield Market is a Wholesale Fruit and Vegetable Market based in Openshaw, Manchester. We are a 35 acre site with around 80 businesses and over 500 members of staff working on site throughout the night and early morning. 
The role holder will be responsible for the management of the site between the hours of 10:00pm and 8:30am.
The role holder is responsible for supporting the management to ensure that the site operation is managed to deliver high quality tenant and customer focused services. 
They will handle any queries or enquiries regarding the site and manage tenant occupancy. They will undertake unit inspections and ensure that the site and its tenants meets all legislative requirements.
The role holder will work permanent nights on a rolling "four on, four off rota".

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have : 
- Experience of night and/or shift working
- Experience of working in market management or in the retail sector 
- Worked in a fast paced environment
- Good written and oral communication skills are needed in this role as the candidate will be liaising with tenants, contractors and visitors to the site.
