Job Title: Customs Manager
Location: Remote/Belfast/Dublin
Job Type: Full-time
Salary - £35.000 - £45.000pa - DOE - (EQUIVALENT REMUMERATION IN EURO IF BASED IN DUBLIN).
We are seeking an experienced Customs Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and managing our customs department, ensuring compliance with all customs regulations, and developing new business opportunities. The Customs Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure that all customs requirements are met and that our customers' needs are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement customs policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all customs regulations and guidelines.
Set up and manage the customs department, including recruitment, training staff, managing budgets, and ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Work with commercial and sales teams to develop new business opportunities and build relationships with customers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach efforts
Liaise with customs authorities and other government agencies to ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Manage all customs documentation, including declarations, licenses, and permits.
Provide guidance to other departments and customers on customs compliance requirements.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce customs-related costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
Identify potential customs issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain records of all customs documentation, including declarations, licenses, and permits.
Provide regular reports on customs compliance and performance to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

A degree in a related field or relevant work experience.
Proven experience in customs management and compliance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with customs software and systems is an asset.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Experience in developing new business opportunities.
Knowledge of international trade and customs compliance is essential.

Percentage of customs clearance completed on time
Number of customs-related issues resolved within a set timeframe
Percentage of customs audits and assessments completed without any major findings
Compliance with local and international customs regulations
Customer satisfaction with customs clearance processes
Reduction in customs-related costs
Reduction in customs-related delays and penalties
