Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in Cheshire is currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer - Food Safety to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a food and safety environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to work in the Business Compliance Team enforcing food safety legislation
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
visit, inspect and report on premises of the Borough where food safety legislation applies and to record visits appropriately on the Council's database.
investigate complaints and monitor all types of works in progress at relevant premises.
offer business advice, guidance and support to encourage compliance, including where necessary instigating formal action.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a degree or Diploma in Environmental Health and be registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Be able to demonstrate that they meet the Statutory Competence requirements for an Authorised Officer under the Food Law Code of Practice
Evidence of an advanced level of knowledge and application of the legislation and guidance relating to food safety and associated areas.
Substantial experience of regulation and enforcement
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
