The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. We also lead the Victorian Government's response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Working with our partners, we oversee Victoria's health system including mental health, ageing and aged care and preventive health. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Health is embarking on a significant change readiness program that will support the Health Infrastructure Division to grow rapidly and sustainably, strengthening the foundations and building the capability necessary to plan and deliver a ~$20b project pipeline of world-class infrastructure for Victoria.

Reporting to the Executive Program Director, the Project Leads will lead the effective delivery of a discrete project portfolio, working across broad work streams including talent acquisition and growth planning, operating model, culture and future state readiness to plan and execute key deliverables.

Working in tandem with a Change Lead and a Senior Program Coordinator, the Project Leads will partner with key internal stakeholders to collaboratively progress significant project outcomes.

There are two Project Lead roles available:

Project Lead, Operating Model and Future State (up to 8 months)
Project Lead, Talent Growth and Culture (up to 12 months)

Accountabilities

Lead the end-to-end project management and delivery of a range of portfolio projects ranging in size, scope and scale.
Act as the key interface between project working groups and the central project team regarding project deliverables and progress.
Maintain clear and effective communication with key stakeholders in ensuring the timely provision of information and access to subject matter experts to support and achieve planning milestones.
Provide specialist high level advice and subject matter expertise during project development and delivery.
Ensure the delivery of projects or programs aligns with the Department's service delivery and benefit requirements.
Lead and guide team members in facilitating the resolution of complex and contentious challenges relating to project issues and interfaces.
Develop trusted working relationships within the Department and with internal delivery partners to enable collaboration and influence.
Provide authoritative advice on the Department's project governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate project assurance activities to ensure broader network risks are mitigated while also supporting efficient and effective project development and delivery.
Effectively apply design thinking, human centred design, or similar highly consultative practices to enhance stakeholder engagement and development of project outcomes.
Track risk parameters, identify any deviations, and promptly report them, as per the established risk management systems

Mandatory Vaccination Policy

As it is an essential element of any role within the department that employees be able to attend work onsite and to do so safely, employees are required to be up-to-date with their vaccinations against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment.
