Amazon Human Factors and Ergonomics team is expanding and is looking for a talented Project and Pilot Manager who will support our EU Human Factors & Ergonomics (HFE) Engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the EU HFE Engineering team in coordinating and delivering engineering solution pilots targeting the reduction of Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) risk within our Business Unit Process paths.
You will work collaboratively with Workplace Health and Safety Field Operations, Operations, Engineering, PE, ACES and other stakeholders to drive the cutting-edge MSD risk reduction interventions identified by the team from prototype through to pilot and on to roll-out. You must be innovative, resourceful and willing to think outside of traditional paradigms, and excel at driving multiple complex engineering solution projects aimed at reducing Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) risk. You will need to be able to travel within the EU to support ensuring the success of pilots in multiple countries and sites (up to approximately 35% of time).

As a Project and Pilot Manager, you will engage with cross-disciplinary teams to manage the execution of multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating the development of the validation mechanisms required by the EU HFE Engineering team to support BU network-wide solution implementation. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed with individual responsibilities within a collaborative peer environment.
You will work across multiple Business Units within the company, helping to coordinate injury prevention, and program related projects specific to the team’s needs and to assuring necessary process steps are planned and executed. You will manage smooth, reliable progress of projects against tight target schedules, ensuring that they not only progress effectively, but measure and report progress to interested stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
• Coordinate the execution of EU BU field pilot projects including charter and milestone development, management of Amazon Projects requirements, tracking project plan progress, identifying and resolving project plan barriers, measurement of pilot outcomes, assistance in team outcomes measurement and reporting.
• Change Management Process (CM) - Gathering supporting material, analysis and validation data from the HFE teams, attending CCM (change) team meetings when required, communicating barriers to successful pilot execution.
• Vendor Management – Managing Ergonomics Pilot Project execution timelines
• Gather internal metrics – Operational parameters for field analysis
About the team
Amazon's Workplace Health & Safety Human Factors & Ergonomics team is the central team responsible for the management and reduction of musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) injuries throughout the business.
Working with our stakeholders in all business units, we drive continuous improvement of the equipment, working environment and training and conditioning available to our associates, in order to reduce the risk of MSD injuries occurring.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related fields with a strong emphasis in project management.
• Several years of increasing responsibilities in manufacturing, production, or service operations or the ability to show us how your other industry experience will benefit our workplaces.
• Strong analytical and statistical background to include quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management skills, with demonstrable ability to function and collaborate in a flexible, detail-oriented, fast-paced team environment in a changing and growing organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-starter with the ability to self-manage priorities and project related deliverables.
• Possess the ability to interact positively and in a professional manner in diverse settings and to work cooperatively in team settings. Flexibility in responding to changing demands, timelines, and priorities is also required.
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks while meeting and exceeding deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related fields with a strong emphasis in project management from an accredited university, or international university of equivalent standard.
• Knowledge and skill with CAD applications is advantageous.
• Proven experience in research management, design, and communication shown by way of first author peer reviewed publications, conference proceedings and technical reports.
