Position Summary:
The Executive Development Center at the Atkinson Graduate School of Management invites applications for a part-time faculty pool to teach Project, Portfolio, or Program Management, or Business Analysis classes to government employees. The candidate must have a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate and have both “real-world” project management and classroom teaching experience for adult learners.
An ideal candidate will have extensive business experience, as well as academic grounding, so classes are practical, impactful and consistent with current PMI standards.
Traditional classroom, face-to-face delivery is the standard and primarily held in Salem, Oregon.
Daily schedules are typically 8:30am to 4:30pm with a one hour lunch and two fifteen minute breaks. Instructor should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each class to set up, test technology and answer student questions.
JOB DESCSRIPTION
Instructors will be part of a qualified pool to teach topical modules, virtually or in-person, in an established program. Number of teaching days will depend on demand and availability. Working with curriculum developers, the candidate will deliver highly interactive, engaging and relevant content. We use the “describe - demonstrate - do” technique. The instructor describes the concept or tool, uses an example to demonstrate how to use it, and then coaches class teams as they apply it themselves in an exercise.
We aspire to continuous improvement of our teaching and student learning. We expect all instructors to propose innovative improvements to syllabi, course materials, and pedagogy, and incorporate fresh and creative teaching materials that help students learn and retain knowledge and skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• PMP Certified
• Demonstrated teaching experience in the fields of Project, Program or Portfolio Management or Business Analysis
