About the team

As a Project Controls Manager you operate in the heart of the Naval Project organization. The PMO (Project Management Office) provides resources and support to all of our customer and product projects and programs. We are currently developing towards a knowledge department that sets the standard, provides services, governance, methods and tools with the aim to improving, securing and professionalizing Bid and Project Management.

About your future job

The principle purpose of the role is to actively support one or more Project Managers by executing Project Management controls on their projects in line with Thales processes and ways of working with tools as defined by Bids & Project Management. Main KPI’s are: on-time delivery, project efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The main tasks are:

To ensure appropriate Project Governance;
• Ensure the project baseline plan is captured and realistic.
• - Ensure the actual, achievements, forecasts are captured in a timely manner each month to support progress reviews.

Supporting project review;
• Generating the monthly reporting pack by working with senior project staff and work package managers.
• Ensure the inputs to key review meetings are produced and distributed in a timely manner e.g. report template, Earned Value statistics, latest baseline plan, latest revised estimates.

To be accountable for governance, deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management;
• Ensure all risks and opportunities descriptions are captured appropriately in the register
• Support the monthly risk and opportunities reviews
• Produce monthly risk and opportunities performance metrics

To collect and monitor the use of ‘lessons learned’ as part of a continuous improvement culture;
Support ad-hoc duties that will be consistent with the nature of a Project Controls Manager position within Thales.
