The Solutions Engineer supports the pre-sales process and works alongside the sales team to develop and demonstrate solutions that assist in acquiring new customers. Primary activities of this position include building relationships with prospects and sales partners, delivering product demonstrations that articulate features and differentiators for our solution, understanding a prospect’s needs and architecting solutions, assisting with sales proposals, and strategizing with Account Executives to drive sales through pre-configured demo solutions.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical resource for the sales team from qualification to successful close of the sale.
• Prepare and deliver customer-centric value-based presentations and solution demonstrations.
• Scope technical solutions required to address requirements, assess prospects met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Ideagen
• Communicates the solution and recommend installation configuration with internal teams including Account
Executives, sales support, and services providing alignment on Proposals, Quotes, RFPs, RFQs, Hosted Requirements for prospects and existing customers
• Create and maintain valuable industry systems to be used for demonstrations, internal trainings, free trial systems, and customer product installations
• Lead the free trial process with the sales team; provide help and systems to prospects, configure systems as needed
• Be a product expert resource for internal teams; sales, services, marketing, support, and engineering.
Maintain industry and use case knowledge
• Clearly articulate features and differentiate product offerings to audiences ranging from CO’s to IT Managers
• Determine best methods to ensure the sales team is receiving product knowledge throughout their selling process
• Travel to industry events as a technical product resource as needed
Skills and Qualities
• Experience in a technical solution role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, framing, business justification, and project execution
• Understanding of consultative sales process.
• Demonstrated ability to work through complex technical problems and improve business processes.
• Able to work on a team or individually
• Highly self-motivated and self-directed
Accepts and responds to feedback quickly and positively
• B.S. Degree in Business, B.B.A or the equivalent
• Understanding of Salesforce or CRM relational databases preferred
• Understanding of compliance challenges and regulations within the industries served
• Software pre-sales or customer support/service experience preferred
