About the role
The Role of the QA manager is to lead, manage and improve the quality management system. This is done by ensuring that adequate policies and procedures are followed in the manufacturing of products in order to meet regulatory and customer requirements. The QA manager works out the long-term quality strategy, fitting into the Decorations long-term plan, and oversees the implementation, providing assistance and direction to the different teams in quality and operations.
The QA manager is supported by the local QA team of Barry Callebaut Decorations and is responsible for the training, coaching & follow-up of the different roles. The Quality team will provide customer support for specifications, cases and complaints.
Next to this, the QA manager oversees the operations of IBC and Dings Décor by gathering information from the local teams and reports these into the General Manager. The QA manager has a coaching role as well.
The Hoogenboom warehouse, selling a big part of the BC Decorations portfolio, is also supported and overseen by the QA manager. This includes the implementation of the entire quality system based on the IFS Broker and Logistics standards.
Key responsibilities include
- Reach and maintain FSSC 22000 certification for all sites by keeping the right track of QA and using HACCP as a basis
- Build a robust quality system enabling the production team to take up quality responsibilities by developing and maintaining competencies and awareness for quality & food safety
- Avoid, but be prepared for, food safety issues by organizing and training the crisis team. Act as a coordinator, managing crisis and potential issues with the key stakeholders
- Drive and implement improvement, be part of the BC Deco strategy and enrol the QA strategy by supporting the process of continuous improvement, using trend analysis, root cause analysis, 5 why and CAPA
- Develop the team competencies and facilitate talent development by coaching, delegating and leading by example
About you
- You hold a Master Degree in a food safety discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field)
- You have at least 6+ year experience in a quality or food safety related function with a deep understanding of Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and problem solving principles
- You have at least 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience with auditing, BRC, IFS, FSSC 22000, Kosher, UTZ/FT, Regulatory affairs
- Languages: Dutch, English and preferably also French
