Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently looking for a Project Controls Manager to strengthen our team in Dubai to support the Basra Gas Company project. Please find below the details.
*Design and implement project control mechanisms and systems for effective control of Project estimates, schedule, cost and timewriting; to facilitate accurate reporting of schedule and cost performance, variance analysis, commitments, expenditures, VOWD, and estimates at completion
*Management and administration of contract types, project planning, project execution, work processes (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning), estimating systems and software and manufacture processes for critical and major equipment
*Ensure development and implementation project WBS and CBS
*Schedule reviews to analyze schedule performance and ascertain schedule variations using Earned Value *Management techniques like Schedule Variance and Schedule Performance Index
*Ensure effective schedule control, analyse cause and degree of any variance relative to the schedule baseline and adopt necessary corrective or preventive action
*Assess schedule feasibility of project schedule and ensure adequate contingency is maintained and review and authorise plans to mitigate the impact of any unexpected situations
*Approve baseline schedules
*Review and approve of project progress reports and management reports
*Supervise and verify development of annual and total budget for projects based on approved cost estimates and schedule
*Monitor variances from the current budget and assist all project members with the control, formulation and interpretation of budgets, trends, and estimates at completion
*Review and endorse all project forecasts
Interface management with various project departments regarding project reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate flow of information
*Participate in PROMs, identify Risks & Opportunities, analyse risk exposure using Monte Carlo simulations (@RISK) and contingency management
*Ensure that effective project change management is implemented and that approved changes are put in through adequate control systems on a timely basis and that changes, trends and forecasts reflect the project scope
*Serve as focal point for Project Control Systems and Procedures
*Assist in the preparation of the final project close-out report and asset register
*Interface with project accounting to ensure accuracy of actual costs reported
*Supervise project controls in the performance of required project control functions
*Supervise the timewriting team and test/validate accuracy of the data
Skills / Qualifications
-Degree or similar qualification
-Minimum of 15 years experience in oil and gas Industry
-Onshore oil and gas related project controls experience
-Experience of a leadership role in Project Controls with the ability to manage a team
-Expert in writing reports
-Commercially and contractually aware and able to manage budgets
-Familiar with project controls systems
-Good Oral and Communication skills
-Must be able to supervise and delegate
-Must have good interpersonal skills/team player
