Role Summary

The Continuous Improvement Manager is accountable to support the Company in the achievement of both financial and operational objectives, as well as lead a cross-functional team to implement Continuous Improvement activities based on our Magna Factory Concept MAFACT.  This position is also responsible to conduct internal assessments, create improvement plans, and lead LEAN reviews.

Key Responsibilities

MAFACT (Magna Factory Concept) Assessment & Improvement Plans:
Create improvement plan including monthly implementation tracking for all MAFACT sections; present MAFACT status at monthly General Meeting: Score, Status CI Projects, Employee suggestions.
Coordination of MAFACT implementation/ sustaining.
CI Cost Savings & Problem Solving:
Lead & Tracking of Significant CI Projects; Problem Solving Training including A3, PDCA, Identify/ support Top 3 Improvement Projects per Department of the division, 5Why Problem Solving
Train Company's employees in Problem Solving.
Overall A3 drives selection of all CI activities (division A3 & department A3´s).
Shopfloor & KAIZEN:
Advanced process knowledge of core processes of the division; weekly Gemba Walk by following the complete material flow; conduct minimum one KAIZEN workshop per month. Small but continuous improvement steps – everybody, everywhere and everyday.
Problem solving “at the source”, Managing by Facts and Figures, encourage measurable improvements.
MAFACT Tools:
Create/ revisit Standardized Work for a high runner; identify and track significant improvement of performance related KPI via SW.  SW rollout in the division.
Initiate/ revisit TPM for a high runner, identify and track significant improvement via TPM. Rollout TPM.
Promote and introduce 5S as a culture set the basics for Standardized Work, TPM, Material Management and LPA - Introduce/ support sense of responsibility to maintain systems in the division.
Create VSM for the most important value stream in the division, create a VSM roadmap to cover all high-runners and consequently work on VSM Current-Future-PDCA; Introduce/ Support PULL principle in the division, identify and track significant improvements via VSM.
Initiate “Train the Trainer” programs:  provide training and coaching in the division for MAFACT & Lean principles.
MAFACT Simulation Training: train all team-leaders at the division; create and follow training plan to train all shopfloor personnel and process engineers.
Visualization & Transparency:
Implement/ control MAFACT boards according to MAFACT Guideline.
Setup MAFACT Improvement Board according to the MAFACT Assessment and results.
Implement/ support GQS 06 Daily Fast Response.
Ensure KPI management at all departments.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

5 to less than 7 years of work related experience
Project management experience
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement & Production Systems
Six Sigma
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
Layered Process Audit (LPA)
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Standardized Work
