Salary Level  HEW 7  + 17% Superannuation
Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives with business areas, using right fit continuous improvement methodologies to deliver sustainable improvements, with a focus on delivering benefit to the organisation and uplifting maturity Identifying and analysing current state gaps, determining root cause, developing future state solutions and support the implementation and embedding of those solutions into BAU activity.
The team and this role will contribute to multiple strategic priorities, productivity efforts by leading, mentoring and training stakeholders encouraging ‘agile’ mindset and best practice outcomes.

To be successful in this position, you will:

Facilitate and contribute to continuous improvement engagements by agreeing to, and executing a defined scope of work, identifying and delivering efficiency savings through the revision of business processes with minimal technology changes.
Complete projects with appropriate use of tools and methodologies.
Lead continuous improvement workshops with stakeholders, applying knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies to progress toward benefit delivery and sustained improvement.
Develop and document ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ designs in compliance with enterprise process mapping standards and tools.
Within a defined strategic program through process facilitation and design sessions, using lean methodologies, identify and implement improvement opportunities that improve quality, reduce cost, increase productivity, and improve cycle time by reducing waste.
Developing strong relationships and achieve buy-in from all decision makers for the successful application of operational excellence/performance improvement. 
Act as a champion for operational excellence to encourage and foster an environment of continuous improvement outcomes.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Continuous Improvement team by taking a critical eye to our processes, procedures and frameworks. Provide process improvement advice and expertise during project solutioning and mobilisation. 
Assist in training stakeholders to encourage ‘lean’ mindset and best practices, while facilitating their transition to high-performing teams.

About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.  
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units:  Enterprise Project and business performance, Communications, Global Marketing & Student Recruitment, Human Resources, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Property Services Group (PSG). 
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups.  The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.  Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
Housed within Enterprise Projects and Business Performance, the Continuous Improvement team provide an integrated approach to strategy execution, planning, project governance, and optimising student and staff experience and uplifting business capability.

We do this by:

Engaging in improvement initiatives across the enterprise to deliver value, efficiency gains and targeted fast outcomes
Embedding resources and capability within large scale projects
Developing and providing best practice tools and methods to support simple, continuous improvement practices;
Mentoring, training, and coaching to develop local capability in continuous improvement methodologies
Partnering with other services provides to form the right multidisciplinary teams to get the job done.
