What will you work on?

The Vice President of Toy Safety, Compliance & Quality is responsible for leadership and oversight in these areas, and for ensuring we continuously improve upon the quality of the products and support we bring to our consumers.
This individual works very closely with the Product Development and Product Sourcing teams to ensure objectives are met, and that products remain in compliance in all countries within which Spin Master sells or distributes.

How will you create impact?

Leads a global product safety, compliance and quality team in a dynamic and interactive manner which creates high performance and an engaging work environment, as well as ensuring the ongoing development of the team’s skills and capabilities. Ensures that the team has the skills and resources required to support ongoing growth in the Toy Creative Center.
Applies and navigates relevant global safety and compliance product requirements across a broad spectrum of product categories
Continuously develops enterprise and brand product integrity policies, guidance, and specifications
Manages timely and accurate quality specifications for new product development criteria and peer counterparts
Oversees all new product integrity, ongoing quality control and inspection, product life cycle through to disposal, recalls, policy and specification data base and legal counsel support
Collaborate with Engineering and Design to optimize content and features of new products. Direct and oversee proposed materials, methods, and processes to ensure designs achieve quality objectives
Works with all Brand teams to resolve issues impacting compliance and quality
Ensure the alignment of compliance and product assurance measures with Marketing, Design, Packaging, Engineering and Supply Chain teams Improves productivity and efficiency of the quality process
Continuously develops, manages and enhances the end-to-end product integrity process
Responsible for the global product integrity strategy, product category risk profiles, corporate standards, resource allocations, quality metrics and reporting
Influences compliance future through industry and professional committees.  Drives this mindset across the company
Contributes to corporate sustainability plans related to product composition and product packaging

What are your skills and experience?

Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
10+ years’ experience developing, implementing, and managing quality processes in a global environment; a combination of toy and CPG experience required
A strong reputation as an industry expert
A hands-on style with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, creating a high-performance culture and managing business results while championing integrity
Proven ability to co-ordinate and lead a global team third-party providers) in a multi-project fast paced environment
Experience working with Asia and remote engineering, development and manufacturing.
Ability to identify patterns and trends from the past that relate to current situation and uses that knowledge to come up with creative solutions and new ideas
Unafraid to make the tough call and drive opinions and insights into business plans
A “can do” attitude to getting the job done while continuously taking initiative and pushing projects forward under tight deadlines
A flexible and informal management style that adjusts based on the needs of the situation and promotes active input and debate on critical issues
Highly developed analytical skills and the ability to develop solid internal and external relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated success leading and or implementing transformational initiatives

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in New York City is $190,000 to $250,000. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
