We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chef Manager to join our team on a full time basis at Aveo Freedom Rochdale.
Reporting into the Community Manager, you'll lead a team to provide meal services across the community. Your ability to create a positive rapport with customers will position you well and help ensure they are delighted with each meal service. As a hands-on people manager, you'll be passionate about developing and supporting your team to grow.
About the role:
• Ensuring the delivery of a daily quality meal service to residents and visitors to the Aveo community
• Overseeing both food and service elements of the daily food service
• Day to day management of the food services team
• Daily monitoring of food safety and general WH&S
• Stock management including ordering, stock rotation, stock taking etc.
• Meeting with residents, families, prospective residents and Aveo staff to ensure all required outcomes are met
• Managing maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Periodic financial reporting
To be successful in this role you would have;
• Relevant commercial cookery qualification (essential)
• Retirement Village / Aged Care Industry experience or similar
• Experience in Ala Carte and function dining (desirable)
• Experience in providing a customer focussed Dining Experience
• Experience in managing a food services team
• Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Police check clearance
• Demonstrated ability to work within WH & S and a continuous improvement environment
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
