Lambeth Council Facilities Management have a requirement for an Accommodation Projects. The role will suit an experienced Project Manager with background in Facilities Management. You will be responsible for the delivery of accommodation projects in all the council’s portfolio of buildings.
Ideally you will have demonstrable experience of delivering accommodation projects from inception through to completion and managing multiple projects at any one time. The role will suit a person with strong written and verbal communication skills.

The position is a key role for the team as its key aims centres around ensuring exceptionally high service standards across our portfolio. You will be key in the implementation of accommodation projects, procedures and SOPs and the development of the partners relationships for the smooth running of the operations with a focus in providing the highest quality outcome while ensuring VfM.

Main purpose of post:

The post holder will lead and manage all accommodation projects across the Lambeth Corporate Estate. The role will require the post holder to deal with a range of colleagues at a Senior Level and with Departmental stakeholders, establishing effective partnerships and managing a broad range of operational and strategic relationships. The clienting of professional services and providing guidance to key strategic decision-makers to secure the successful completion of accommodation projects.
The postholder will be responsible for the set-up and management of accommodation projects, ensuring these are delivered to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with agreed programme plans and governance arrangements.

Post Holder Responsibilities

1. To be responsible for the development of project plans, including Business cases, procurement reports, project plans and reports to Strategic Boards.
2. To be directly responsible for the planning, co-ordination and implementation of all office accommodation moves in Core buildings through the management of internal and external resources as required

3. Lead the effective delivery of the project plan(s). Ensure that professional services consultants and contractors perform their duties such that the projects are delivered to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget, meeting the necessary design standards through key documentation:
• Client requirements documented and agreed
• Relevant floor plans drafted and client approved
• Implementation and risk plans supplemented where required with other appropriate documentation (e.g. stakeholder/communication plan)
• appropriate records including action logs and provide regular updates on progress and any arising issues/suggested solutions
4. Be responsible for risk and issue management of the projects.
5. To develop and lead the project review process including lessons learnt exercise upon project completion. To apply lessons learnt to future accommodation projects.

6. Leading on numerous corporate projects and services that require FM assistance to deliver e.g., enabling democratic meetings and corporate events.
7. To manage the process for space allocation for the Town Hall and Civic Centre buildings, in particular make recommendations to the appropriate decision maker on the viability for the proposed change.
8. To manage the procurement of furniture in line with Corporate requirements and to develop and maintain the corporate furniture asset register ensuring all drawings and records are kept up to date.
9. To manage and report back to Management board on the annual audit of office space including building occupancy and desk utilisation.
10. To develop, manage and implement regular customer satisfaction surveys reporting results as required to Management Board.

11. Ensure departments are appropriately recharged for any moves, furniture purchases, layout changes or works as required.
12. To work flexibly in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job and participate as required in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross organisational groups and task teams.
13. To ensure appropriate Health, Safety, Environmental standards and appropriate Council policies are maintained in all activities.
14. To undertake any other duties that may be required. These may be varied from time to time to meet the needs of the service.
15. To support and when appropriate lead on the procurement of service and goods contracts that support the service area.

Additional information

. Although the post holder will not need to be professionally qualified, they should apply relevant project planning and implementation tools and techniques depending on the scale and size of the change. This could range from a small office move/furniture swap to large scale projects involving relocation of several teams across multiple sites.
