Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has an immediate opening for an Equipment Inspector at our Moerdijk, NL auction site. This role is ideal for someone with a background in mechanics who is knowledgeable with conducting heavy equipment inspections. No auction experience is needed to work in this role, and lots of training will be provided.
In this role you'll:
• Using the last technology available, you will be responsible for assessing equipment and composing photos and videos for the Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) Program).
• Verify all equipment descriptions based on the Ritchie Bros Equipment Standards Manual.
• Identify and record all equipment components, accessories, and asset details.
• Perform visual inspection (e.g. wear points, damage, hour meter readings, etc) and functional testing (e.g. basic operations of the asset) on equipment related to the DEI Program.
• Assist with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager.
Here's what you bring:
• You have at least 2 years of experience around equipment.
• MBO/LBO or higher in related field is considered an asset, VCA Certificate prefered.
• Fluent in Dutch or English
• Intermediate proficiency level using current MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel) &digital cameras
• Experience operating heavy equipment would be ideal but is not required. Forklift certification is an asset.
• Proven ability to effectively interface with Sales and Operational teams, as well as customers. You must have a strong customer service orientation.
• You must be process-oriented, hands-on, and ready to roll up your sleeves to succeed in this role.
• Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task multiple projects and initiatives effectively and prioritize work are essential.
• You have a strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.
