ESS provides a home away from home for people working in remote mining villages and offshore on oil rigs. We provide the hospitality solutions to ensure all guests are getting the comforts of home even in isolated locations.

ESS manages all aspects of large-scale accommodation facilities or “villages” for remote workers, providing the essential comforts such as a hot meal, a clean bed, freshly laundered workwear to health and wellness facilities for those working away from home.

We are currently seeking experienced Chefs to join our reputable organisation and work at our sites in rural NSW. Here you will cater for 300-450 residents. FIFO from Sydney or Melbourne or locals based in or near Mildura, VIC or Broken Hill, NSW are also encouraged to apply on a Drive-in/Drive-out basis.

Our Chef’s work a 14/7 roster doing 10-12 hour shifts for 14 days straight and then have 7 days off, creating the perfect work-life balance!

Flights, accommodation, meals and uniforms are all organised and provided by us, all you need to do is travel to the airport, unless you are a local where you will be required to drive in and out as per your swing.

Our Chef’s are “hands on” and you can be expected to work various shifts from an early breakfast/lunch or to a late dinner shift. Whilst you will be heavily supported by our amazing kitchen staff, it is expected that our Chefs will be there to also assist and perform all tasks from food preparation and right through to service and cleaning.

Bulk cooking experience is preferable as we can serve between 100-1500 people dependent on the site you are based at. We offer buffet style, hot grills and cook to order styles of food across a variety of cuisines.

Safety is paramount in our Company and we expect that you will follow suit, ensuring safe work practices, including food handling and storage procedures, food hygiene, infection control and cleanliness are adhered to at all times.

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Bulk/function cooking experience
• Be physically fit and able to work 10-12 hour days
