If so, please consider joining the Quartz leadership team as the Manager, Project Management Office! This role will effectively lead the implementation of Agile methodologies for the organization, developing and maintaining a set of Best Practices that are suitable for our environment. This role will provide PM staff and project oversight, identifying, prioritizing, and communicating project initiatives and progress in alignment with corporate strategies.

Base compensation range of $105,000-$125,000 + robust total rewards package

Responsibilities

• Establish and review PMO and staff member goals to ensure alignment with the corporate mission, strategy, and tactical plans
• Develop and improve project management methodology, processes, and tools across the organization - mentoring Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure effective adoption and change management is achieved
• Develop and maintain a set of Best Practices for utilizing Agile methodologies across the organization, and coach PMs on incorporating into all projects
• Oversee the identification and successful execution of corporate projects - helping to prioritize and communicate project initiatives, performance data, and metrics in alignment with corporate strategies
• Identify the scope of needs, including minimum viable product (MVP) and work with the team to estimate the effort and assign responsibilities accordingly across staff members
• Provide monthly updates to stakeholders and senior leadership to provide transparency and visibility into project status (i.e. sprint overview, scorecard, etc.)

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in project management preferred, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience required
• 4+ years of management or leadership experience preferred, with a minimum of 2+ years required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
• Expert and working knowledge of and experience utilizing a variety of Project Management concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and theories, including Agile and traditional approaches to Project Management, with the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit project objectives and overall business environment

• Thorough understanding of and experience with project management phases, techniques, and tools; including common SDLCs and Project Management Lifecycles
• PMP or similar project management certification is preferred
• Ability to thrive in a rapid and iterative environment and produce results with little or no supervision in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
• Understanding of software development and the insurance industry is preferred
• Advanced knowledge of computer software applications; experience with Microsoft Project or similar project planning tool(s) preferred
• Ability to schedule and coordinate department activities, identify training needs, and effectively respond to changes in the work environment

• Ability to interface effectively and consultatively with external vendors, consultants, senior level and executive leadership
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Curiosity and interest in discovering, learning and teaching new software, systems, and tools

This position will be able to work remotely, but the ability to commute regularly to our office in Madison, WI, is preferred. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
