Description

The Measurement Technician II position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of equipment used to measure hydrocarbon and water production on producing well pads and through gathering systems used to transport produced fluids. This equipment includes but is not limited to orifice meters, coriolis meters, turbine meters, LEL meters, and thermal electric generators. This position will interact with Instrument and Electrical Technicians, Lease Operators, Production Accountants and SCADA personnel to maximize well production and minimize down time, while reducing environmental hazards, safety risks and costs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs installation, configuration and calibration of new equipment.
• Performs meter calibrations and gas samples according to schedule, adhering to company standards
• Performs verification and calibration of LEL meters according to schedule, adhering to company standards
• Performs orifice plate changes as needed to support optimal production and measurement.
• Verification and calibration of thermal electric generators according to schedule, adhering to company standards

• Maintains volume variances within allowable tolerance for entire route.
• Participates in on call rotation to support measurement responsibilities after hours and on weekends.
• Works with production accounting to resolve volumetric discrepancies produced by malfunctioning equipment.
• Helps train level I technicians
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of equipment and principles used to measure produced oil, gas and water.
• Ability to think critically and make data driven decisions using systems and applications used by employer.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, taking into consideration environmental factors such as weather, to complete weekly/monthly assigned work.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the oil and gas industry as well as safe work principles around pressure and electricity.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of specific equipment and technologies used by Encino to measure produced oil, gas and water.

• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications.
• Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.

• Able to effectively abide company policies, procedures, and technology.
• Able to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Education / Experience

High School Diploma/G.E.D required or Associates Degree in technical field
2+ years related work experience

Work Environment
This job is predominately located in the field with travel to other locations.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed.
