Job Title: Regulatory Analyst
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to: Manager, Regulatory and Process Improvement
The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.
Purpose:
Crescent Point Energy is currently seeking a Regulatory Analyst to work within our Regulatory and Process Improvement Team. The position will be based in Calgary and be responsible for providing technical, regulatory, and environmental support for oil and gas projects through the assessment, application filing, post-filing, and post-approval stages.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all requirements for the review, preparation and submission of approval/license applications for facilities and pipelines within Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to compile required information and file applications through government systems such a DDS, OneStop, IRIS, etc.
• Manage data inputs, filing and internal system updates for permits, applications, and approvals related to pipeline, facilities, water, public lands, etc.
• Assist with the review of all license approvals, public land dispositions and associated environmental assessment reports for obligations and commitments, track, and action all obligations and commitments.
• Respond to any audits or compliance events received from the regulator in association with approvals.
• Provide support for implementation and execution of regulatory projects as required.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of regulatory processes and procedures.
• Provide data for weekly and quarterly regulatory compliance reporting.
• Develop and track key performance indicators to monitor regulatory targets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Relevant post-secondary education is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
• Must have significant experience with the approval, compliance and submission requirements of pipeline and facility applications. DDS, OneStop and IRIS experience is required.
• Must possess a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements of oil and gas operations with a working knowledge of AER, AEP, MER and CSA regulations.
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Experience with pre-disturbance site assessments, wildlife surveys, wetland assessments, habitat evaluation, environmental impact assessment (EIA) and environmental monitoring associated with oil and gas development, would be considered an asset.
• Experience using programs such as Abadata, ProMonitor, Converge, Generwell, and Siteview would be an asset.
