As a Food, Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for driving and delivering the strategic Health and Safety agenda within your region. The emphasis will be on building relationships and providing support. If your passion is purely technical and you think safety is all about auditing, then this is not the job for you. The role will centre around providing high quality guidance, advice, coaching and mentoring to the Region Exec teams and Operations Managers, to ensure improved standards of safety performance.

Role responsibilities:

• Provide professional food safety, health & safety and related support as required.
• Support during the investigation of all accidents, alerts and near misses, ensuring these are recorded and processed in line with company procedures in a timely manner. Also ensuring electronic systems (Prime) are updated accordingly.
• Responsible for developing, engaging and rolling out safety initiatives and information to meet the company’s, clients’ and customers’ expectations.
• Influence and lead on the implementation of safety initiatives.

• Proactively lead on initiatives to aid the development of a strong safety culture.
• Take the lead on communicating safety messages.
• Implement plans to deliver solutions and interventions that deliver Health and safety skills at contract and location level.
• Lead on the investigation of alleged food poisoning investigations and food safety related complaints.
• Complete regular location food safety audits and action plans designed to improve food safety performance.
• Develop a positive safety culture.
• Management and support of aid changes to food legislation or company policy implementation

What we like from our Food, Health and Safety Manager:

• You will have experience within a Lead Regional Safety role or similar.
• Degree educated, or equivalent would be desirable.
• A minimum qualification of a NEBOSH certificate and Food Safety Level 4.
• To demonstrate an understanding of what it means to drive a safety culture.
• A professional approach to time, costs and working to deadlines.
• Possess excellent communication skills including the ability to identify opportunities. for improvement and to target support to a wider audience.

• Exceptional problem-solving and organisation skills.
• Able to devise and implement strategies to benefit both the company and the client
• Demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving
• Experience of working in the catering section would be desirable
