Summary
Michigan Medicine is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Physician Organization of Michigan ACO, LLC. The Senior Project Manager will be part of the administrative support team for the Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO and report to the POM ACO Chief Operating Officer.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting various organizational activities with primary responsibility for the development and execution of POM ACO’s clinically focused initiatives. In particular, this position will partner with clinicians to identify projects to enhance our performance. This position is responsible for facilitating data analysis and leading implementation, evaluation, and communication of the projects with minimal oversight. This is one of POM ACO’s most critical areas of focus for 2022 and beyond.
Under general direction, s/he is responsible for the management, performance, and completion of the project work across multiple stakeholders and committees. The Senior Project Manager will create and execute project plans, manage projects from start to finish, and assume ownership of project success.

· Cross-Functional Project Management
o Plan and execute multiple projects and assignments in fulfillment of organizational objectives.
o Create and communicate comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resources, deliverables, and measures of success.
o Manage projects from start to finish, including data analysis, purposeful meeting facilitation, and consistent focus on the big picture.
o Assume complete ownership of project success, providing dedicated leadership and seeking support as needed.
· Lead Cost and Quality Initiatives
o Facilitate the Clinical Management and Oversight Committee (CMOC).
o Support development of POM ACO initiatives, particularly clinically focused initiatives, including evaluating internal data and marketplace trends, assessing organizational interest and readiness, and recommending potential opportunities.
o Coordinate with physician leadership across all of our partners to identify and implement clinical opportunities (this directly translates to our ability to earn shared savings or obligation to owe shared losses).
o Lead CMOC through a new process to identify and implement projects to enhance our performance. As one of POM ACO’s most critical areas of focus,
this position is responsible for the following:
§ Identify projects (with our clinicians),
§ Define the root cause of current issues and the project’s projected impact on total performance (with our data analytics team),
§ Solicit, onboard, and manage vendor partners as needed,
§ Implement the projects,
§ Coordinate with POM ACO’s other committees,
§ Evaluate program effectiveness,
§ Communicate progress and outcomes to POM ACO’s Board of Managers,
§ Adjust programs as needed.
· Overall
o Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with ACO partners, staff, and committee members.
o Ensure adherence to CMS quality standards, rules and regulations.
o Provide vendor management and oversight.
o Create and present board-level reports in both PowerPoint and white paper format.
o Proactively identify issues and make recommendations, before such information is requested.
o Continuously exhibit the highest level of professionalism and responsibility while managing partner relationships.
o Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
• Education - Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Project Management - Senior role: More than 4 years of considerable progressively responsible experience in project management and/or program management, including scheduling and planning, issues documentation and tracking, meeting preparation, and follow-up. Ability to create detailed project plans and executive-level summaries of milestones, status, and barriers. Intermediate role: 2 to 4 years of related experience.
• Facilitation - Superb facilitation skills with the ability to move people, projects, and conversations to decisions and actions.
• Investigative Approach to Problem Solving - Proven ability to think strategically with the curiosity and diligence to brainstorm new ideas and become a “data detective,” digging into the data and asking questions until a solution is identified.
• Strategic Thinking & Analytics - Demonstrated excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to analyze multiple sources of data and recommend opportunities.
• Business Acumen - Proactive engagement and knowledge of health care trends, regulatory environment, and marketplace with ability to translate such knowledge into identifying risks and opportunities for POM ACO. A proven background in planning and implementing successful programs that ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare is helpful.
• Technical - Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), as well as other database, email and calendar software.
• Partnering and Relationship Building - Demonstrated ability to foster strong, positive relationships and align both internal and external resources to achieve organizational objectives.
• Multi-Tasking - Ability to execute multiple complex initiatives with an eye on the strategic as well as the operating level. Ability to set priorities, handle multiple deadlines and display excellent judgment and high level of professionalism.
• Communication - Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and oral, amongst multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Desired Qualifications*
• Master’s degree preferred in business administration, health care administration, or public administration, or similar.
• Vendor management experience highly desired.
• Experience in a clinical setting helpful, but not required.
• Experience developing and executing strategic plans helpful, but not required.
• Experience in the ACO and/or Medicare Advantage environment is a plus.
