For our Sika Technology Team in Zurich we are looking for a EHS Manager
In this role you will develop and execute local strategy for Environment, Health and Safety, risk management, security, and fire safety. You will advise line management on EHS roles and responsibilities and support in the execution of management`s accountabilities with respect to EHS. You initiate and lead local proactive projects to ensure EHS performance and establish a safety culture.
Exciting Challenges
• Together with management, create safety first culture and prevention program, follow up on incidents, accidents investigation, improvement planning and implementation
• Communicate EHS and risk management requirements visibly and propose best practices for implementation
• Support hazard analysis per site, job category, workplace. Create a hazard/ risk register with all necessary preventive actions
• Lead and animate the EHS representative network by example and participate in EHS work-groups and projects
• Monthly and annual reports to line management and Corporate Controlling, necessary reports to authorities, report accidents to line management
• Report deviations from internal and external EHS requirements and propose corrective actions
• Perform safety walks, cooperate in audits for driving the improvement cycle, create involvement of employees in safety
• Accident, incident and near miss investigations, communications; support definition of action and implementation; control implementation
• Lead and train to develop effective corrective and preventive actions using Root Cause Problem Solving and Mistake
• Proofing concepts in response to EHS incidents and compliance issues
• Drive projects and programs to prevent / eliminate EHS incidents as well as address special events in order to drive overall improvement
• Propose and install training and education system in EHS, control implementation
• Work closely with regional EHS manager and Head Global EHS to agree on expectations for EHS standards and report out performance towards expectations on a regular basis
We Need Your Skills
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• Min. 5 years of work experience overseeing EHS responsibilities within R&D or manufacturing
• Experience in implementation of EHS requirements and procedures, preferably in a laboratory environment
• Knowledge of CH authorities’ requirements; Safety Officer certified or Specialist in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
• Security experience (such as evacuation process and fire protection)
• Capability to develop, document and deploy EHS standards
• Ability to build trust and create collaborative environment and relationships
• Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills
• Good knowledge of risk assessment and control
• Fluency in German and English is essential
Home office: Main job function is Zürich; office time can only be partly done in home office
