Huntsman Netherlands is currently looking for an experienced HSE Manager with a strong background in BRZO working environments, to take the lead in our Health, Safety and Environment strategy within our Rotterdam assets.
The Rotterdam assets are a key-site in our global organisation and are vital for the continuous development of our organisation.
As a HSE Manager you will be accountable for our EHS vision and strategy and be responsible for creating a world class EHS culture founded on active leadership, associate participation, and continuous improvement. Together with your team you will strive to ensure regulatory compliance and eliminate process safety events, occupational injuries, and environmental incidents.

As the HSE Manager, you will:
• Participate as a Member of the Site Leadership Team sharing the site responsibilities, objectives and goals
• Lead a team of 10 direct reports and be responsible for their professional development and performance.
• Build constructive relationships with internal & external regulatory & industry organisations ensuring the sites interests are efficiently represented
• Manage the EHS OPEX budget efficiently and act as the customer for supporting resources from the EHS Centres of Excellence. Support the development of the EHS component of the site’s CAPEX program.
• Ensure that all current operations and proposed expansion projects have the necessary licenses and permits and support the Site Leadership Team in ensuring compliance with these licenses.

Participate as an active member of the Global Operations EHS team working with internal Business partners to enhance Global EHS programs & performance.
• Ensure that robust management systems are implemented to achieve full compliance with the applicable regulatory laws and Huntsman EHS standards.
• Provide leadership in the development of an open reporting and learning culture.
Skills & Experience Required:
• At least a Master’s degree in SHE (MoSHE) or HVK with additional MSc degree in Technical or Managerial direction, with at least 10 years of working experience in a similar role in a production environment
• Excellent knowledge and appreciation of EHS laws and standards and broad managerial working experience in a high tier SEVESO (BRZO) organization.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and performance management experience, with strong knowledge of EHS, Project and TA Management Principles
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to cooperate, interact and influence stakeholders to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities and tasks.
• Fluent in Dutch and English
