Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for Project Controls Manager to strengthen our team in Dubai.

Accountability

• This is a Home Office position based in Dubai. Normal working time will be 48 hours per week (10 hours per day).
• Reporting to the Project Manager, the candidate will assume sole responsibility for co-ordination, and leadership of Project Controls activities identified; ensure the Cost Management, Project Planning and Estimating activities.

Primary Role:

• Establishment and maintenance of systems, processes, procedures, and resources for all areas of functional accountability on the contract.
• Provide the Project Management with accurate monthly cost and progress reports incorporating early warning, forecast completions, together with the critical path and trend analyses.
• Accountable for managing the Main Contract commercial issues.
• To ensure that all work is performed without compromise to quality and in line with the company’s procedures.
• To maintain high standard of safety at all times.

Principal responsibilities include but not limited to;

• Advising project team on cost control, planning & Contract compliance
• Tracking progress & reports against actual cost
• Preparing any special progress reports, cost reports, and forecasts for team activities
• Assisting in change management process with project leaders and contractors
• Reviewing project cost estimates and schedules
• Coordinating routine progress reporting
• Reviewing project cost estimates and project budget tracking for compliance
• Assist Cost Engineers to prepare and update weekly and monthly project cost reports.
• Tracking and evaluating PO and subcontract cost reporting and invoicing
• Participating in reporting on process and cost
• Develop a suitable Work Breakdown Structure covering the project requirements / scope of works.
• Develop, baseline, update, and maintain detailed project schedules for various phases of project execution including but not limited to design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
• Coordinate with client representatives, team members, contractors, subcontractors to consider all project requirements.
• Provides training, mentoring and ongoing project controls guidance to project team members.
• Establish and manage the invoicing procedure and supervise its proper implementation.
• Support the development of the Project Controls team members.
• Identify and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement of project performance and company operations

Skills / Qualifications

• Graduate Degree is preferred however alternative qualifications will be considered i.e. HNC / HND
• Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in the oil and gas industry with minimum 5 years similar experience.
• Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.

Competencies

• Previous Oil & Gas industry experience.
• Experience with detailed Engineering and Construction scheduling.
• Experience with Concept Selection and FEED studies
