About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook/Chef for our Breezeway meals program in Ballarat. Breezeway has been operating for 24 years and is an integral service to the Ballarat community.
The position will be required to cook, prepare lunch and takeaway packs, supervise volunteers and any other tasks associated with the position. The position will assist the Breezeway Meals Coordinator to ensure the safe and effective running of the program and will be required to complete a minimum 5-hour shift. The position might be required on weekends and will require someone who can be available on short notice to cover unplanned absences as well as planned leave.

About you

We are looking for a person who is motivated, has attention to detail, excellent communication skills, can work unsupervised and can be available for shifts on short notice.
Experience in:
• ensuring the business complies with all relevant food safety standards and codes
• Preparation, cooking and serving of 60 plus meals daily.
• handling any issues that arise within the business; inclusive of kitchen, dining room and client behaviour.
• The food industry would be highly regarded with qualifications in Food Handling and Food Supervision.
