The Opportunity

We are looking for a competent and experienced HSE Advisor to be part of our Queensland delivery team, working on wastewater projects in Brisbane.
You will be responsible for providing HSE advice and activities, demonstrate leadership, as well as ensuring compliance with client and company health, safety and environment standards for projects.
This role will be based out of our Luggage Point, Pinkenba facility and will be primarily field based.
You will be Responsible for
We're looking for someone who works collaboratively with field staff (and clients) and supports them to get the job done as safely as possible, whilst also ensuring that all relevant legislative requirements are met.
This will suit someone who has a genuine passion for safety and wants to play a role in helping develop a culture of HSE accountability, ownership, awareness and leadership across projects.

You will;

• Assist with implementation of Fulton Hogan health and safety systems and strategies
• Provide health and safety specialist advice, technical and management support
• Undertake risk assessments of complex tasks collaboratively with internal and subcontractor delivery teams
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent and minimise workplace injuries
• Support managers and supervision of activities to achieve a positive health and safety culture
• Coordinate and manage assurance activities
• Establishing and implementation of procedures for safety/risk management and emergencies
• Conducting investigations into workplace incidents

What we need from you

We’re looking for someone with sound experience in the field. Ideally you will have experience in the utilities sector with exposure to construction & maintenance.
You will have;
• Relevant Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
• Relevant experience in the construction industry
• Preferably ICAM lead investigator
• Ability to function unsupervised, working to tight deadlines
• Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Word and Excel
• Proven ability to engage, coach and foster relationships at all levels of an organisation
• Current First Aid certificate
