Our delightful modern Eastwood care home is set in a rural environment surrounded by the picturesque rolling hills of Bairnsdale near to Lakes Entrance in eastern Victoria. It is close to schools, walking tracks, parks, beaches, mountains, and rivers. It consists of 91 beds, with dementia and high care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents

About the Role
As a Chef Manager at one of our care homes you will provide lead the provision of well presented, nutritious meals that meet Resident dining needs in a home like environment. You will ensure excellence at all times, whilst adhering to all related quality standards and regulations.
This is a permanent opportunity paying between $32.50 - $36.50 per hour + super, subject to years of experience.
Duties
• Ensure the efficient and high-quality functioning of the kitchen and catering service
• Review all feedback from residents and act accordingly to resolve any issues
• Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
• Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces gravies, main dishes, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls
• Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce
• Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies
Complete charts/ forms promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes
• Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff - this includes changes to processes or resident requirements, introduction to new equipment safety or environmental regulations
• Work as an effective team leader by maintaining a positive attitude, respect, and communication with all members of the Catering team
Skills and Experience
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Budget Management
• Understanding of Food Audits
• Hotel/Restaurant experience desirable but not essential
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders
• Effective time management and organisational skills
