The NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools is a research and professional learning services center that supports equity-focused, evidence-based innovations in educational research and programming. We operate as a complex collective of multiple sub-units with different areas of specialization.
NYU Metro Center’s work falls into five categories: 1) technical assistance to districts and schools; 2) professional learning to teachers and leaders; 3) applied research and evaluation of district and school programs; 4) scholarly research conducted by NYU Metro Center researchers and NYU faculty affiliates; and 5) youth development programs including college readiness, youth-led advocacy and organizing, and youth participatory action research. NYU Metro Center has a history of experience providing assistance and mobilizing resources to address a variety of issues related to educational inequity, segregation, disproportionality, discrimination of all kinds, and social injustice.
The Education Justice Research and Organizing Collaborative (EJ-ROC) is seeking a CRSE Project Manager to support the implementation of a 3 year project with the New York City Department of Education Office of Equity and Access (OEA) to provide training, technical support, coaching, and resource development for culturally responsive and sustaining educational (CRSE) practices. The project manager will oversee the logistics and operations of the project, and will collaborate between Metro Center units, the CRSE Lead Trainer/s, and DOE to ensure the successful execution of the various aspects of the project.
EJ-ROC provides strategic organizing support, training, coaching and coalition-building as well as critical data, research and policy analytics to education justice organizing groups across the country. The Lead CRSE Trainer will oversee the CRSE training portfolio for the EJROC team.
We are seeking a Full-Time Project Manager to support our team in the following ways:
Oversee the implementation of EJROC’s CRSE project with the New York City Department of Education
Manage project logistics
Interface with DOE leadership and staff
Collaborate with Professional Learning Manager and equity coaches to update and re-design the EJROC training content
Keep EJROC director apprised of project development
Principal Responsibilities:
onboarding consultants, organizing and managing data and resources, supporting communications between DOE and NYU, collaborating with other project counterparts
identify, process, and onboard project facilitators
interface with NYC DOE Office of Equity and Access team, NYC Teachers, Project Facilitators, and Other NYU Metro Team members (IESC, CSS)
supervise/oversee from 10-50 consultants over the next 3 years
Qualifications

Required Experience:
Experience managing logistics, data, resources, and communications for a large project/s
Experience collaborating with multiple teams to achieve a goal
Experience interacting with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders i.e. students, parents, community leaders, facilitators and school and district leaders
Experience managing timelines independently and effectively
Proficiency with presentation technologies such as Google Slides, Prezi, PowerPoint, Canva, Miro and with creating visually engaging presentations
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Cultural competency that includes race, understanding of trans experiences, gender, ability, language, immigration, socioeconomics
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Experience:
Experience with critical consciousness and critical analysis; anti-racist and anti-oppressive methodologies; popular education and humanizing education
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Multilingualism is a plus, especially in Spanish
Excellent training, facilitation, writing, research, and communications skills

Salary Range:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
