Job Summary

NOV Completion and Production Solutions is currently recruiting for an HSE Specialist in Ridgefield, WA. The successful candidate will oversee the overall administration of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

*Work with others to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy workplace
*Act as primary on-site technical resource in the area of general regulatory compliance as related to HSE
*Ensure required HSE-related inspections and audits are performed and all HSE elements of new employee orientation programs are executed
*Ensure all required HSE-related employee training is identified and conducted.
*Lead HSE incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented using a hierarchy of controls approach
*Periodically review HSE-related programs, policies, and procedures and recommend changes where necessary
*Work alongside site management and employees to ensure work areas are free of recognized hazards
*Ensure job hazard analyses are up-to-date and that appropriate personal protective equipment and other safeguards are adequately identified and in use
*Initiate work orders for maintenance to repair machinery and equipment, as needed with respect to safety and environmental requirements
*Maintain all required HSE records and ensure mandatory reporting requirements are met.
*Coordinate with Workman’s Compensation personnel, as needed
*Maintain Safety Data Sheets and other hazardous communication information regarding chemicals used in the workplace
*Manage recordkeeping and reporting requirements associated with environmental permits, storm water runoff, SPCC, waste disposal, and other reporting
*Act as primary point of contact in the event of HSE inspections from internal and external sources.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

*3-5 years of prior HSE manufacturing experience
*B.S. degree in a field related to HSE or science/technical discipline preferred
*Understanding of Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulations
*Adequate understanding of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
*Experience working with a unionized labor force considered an asset

*Attention to detail, problem solving, and capability to work well under deadlines
*Communicates and works well with diverse group of personnel, Supervisors and Managers
*Able to present and train multiple personnel in small or large groups
