The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an applicant who is passionate about food to move into a Food Safety Coordinator role. The Food Safety coordinator is required to provide leadership and management support to Operations Managers for the achievement of business objectives in relation to food safety.

The successful candidate will ideally have had some exposure to mining operations, but this is not essential. Food safety knowledge is highly desirable as our HSE teams focus is the safe service delivery of village life operations in our remote mining villages.

The Role

-Establish and monitor high quality operational standards
-Develop, implement and monitor food safety training systems
-Effectively monitor the ongoing performance of food safety on remote mine sites
-Train and develop team members in best practices
-Effectively utilise Compass systems to maintain efficient operations
-Keep up to date with regulatory knowledge across HACCP principals

The Person

You will be a team player, possess an ability to positively influence people, be comfortable working with and advising senior managers in a challenging and dynamic environment. Most of all you will be a committed and passionate safety professional, committed to the care and development of our people in the HSEQ arena.

Whilst a certificate 4 in WHS is highly desirable, we are ready to provide support in gaining the qualification for the right applicant.

-Commercial cookery experience or a cert 3 in commercial cookery
-Proficient in Microsoft packaging
-Ability to create and manage procedures and systems
-Engage with key stakeholders (from front line to executives)
-Food production and waste knowledge
-HACCP training
-In depth understanding of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment and ability to apply principles
-Ability to form productive relationships with clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds
-Base knowledge of workplace regulations, including award & agreement requirements
