The Position Director Quality and Risk
The Director and advises the executive, management and staff of Bendigo Health on risk management, clinical governance and quality improvement through an organisation wide quality and risk management program aligned with strategic goals and incorporating an effective evaluation process.

The aim of the position is to develop and promote a positive and proactive quality service and continuous improvement culture across Bendigo Health.

The Team

The Quality and Patient Information Division provides leadership for the nursing workforce throughout Bendigo Health. Quality and Patient Information provides leadership and support for quality improvement, patient safety and experience and health information services across the organisation. The division, through both Health Information Services and Quality have key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, external reporting and compliance requirements. There is a strong strategic and operational focus of promoting quality improvement, supporting the organisation to review incidents, data and systems to improve patient outcomes and efficiency of the business.

In addition, the Executive Director of Quality and Patient Information holds the professional portfolio of Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer. Nurses are the largest work group within Bendigo Health and the division is focused on supporting our nursing workforce to feel valued and empowered. Selection Criteria

Essential:
01.Current knowledge of contemporary quality improvement and risk management frameworks, trends and developments, within a Health Care environment.

Desirable:
02.A post graduate qualification in health administration or management is highly desirable and a relevant clinical qualification would be an advantage.

Desirable:
03.Demonstrated ability to lead, support, direct and co-ordinate ACHS accreditation processes, Aged Care Standards Accreditation processes and other accreditations processes across Bendigo Health.

Desirable:
04.Demonstrated experience managing and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve high quality outcomes in ACHS accreditation process, the Aged Care Standards Accreditation process and other accreditations processes. This includes the ability to understand stakeholder’s organisational context and find

Essential:
05.Exceptional communication skills to develop relationships with staff at all levels within a large healthcare organisation, including demonstrated ability to verbally present complex information in a manner appropriate for the audience.

Essential:
06.Ability to prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language for presentation at Group Executive and the Board.

Essential:
07.Demonstrable improvement in levels of client and staff satisfaction (e.g. Victorian Health Experience Survey) and maintenance above benchmarks set as part of the Statement of Priorities.

Essential:
08.Maintenance of ACHS accreditation status, particularly ACHS and Aged Care Standards.
