CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGING
The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.
Your challenge!
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the sustainability of the lean manufacturing system. You will act as the guardian of the system; capturing, evaluating and prioritizing opportunities for continuous improvement. You will coach, audit and drive the team forward to reach optimal performance. Our Trenton Mill, located on the scenic bank of the Trent River, boasts a 93 year history.
Job Responsibilities
-Owns and reports continuous improvement program progress within and outside the facility
-Coaches site leadership team to increase maturity of their respective pillars and Line Centric Team members on CI intiatives and processes
-Supports and tracks engineering projects to improve processes
-Minimizes quality issues by leading effective continuous improvement program initiatives
-Reduces planned downtime by reducing changeover/cleaning time through standardization
-Ensures standards are adhered to across systems

Desired experience
-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Business
-5 years of related work experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment
-Formal training in Lean or Six Sigma preferred with experience and understanding of the principles and methodologies
-Effective leadership, communication, presentation and organizational skills
-Solution-oriented with proven analytical skills
