About the Role

Provides technical HSE leadership to Metals Exploration (MEX) in the execution, reporting and improvement of HSE structures, processes and systems in line with Our Requirements and local (legal) requirements.

-Provides input into HSE risk assessments in line with the BHP Risk Framework
-Provides technical support in line with - HSE– Our Requirements – Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management, HSEC Reporting, Environment – and drives a consistent approach to implementation
-Supports the development of HSE systems and processes to eliminate or control HSE risks
-Provides facilitation expertise for HSE related events using ICAM methodology and input of learnings into HSE risks and systems
-Oversees the Crisis and Emergency Management processes and tactical responses
-Designs and oversees the environmental management system to ensure compliance with legal, permitting and other requirements
-Ensures the provision of security support and advice for MEX activities
-Supports the coordination of Way We Discover (WWD) HSE related procedures

About You

-12+ years of experience with leadership roles.
-Strong evidence of experience in trans global exploration activities or similar preferable.
-Deep understanding of hazards, risks and controls associated with operating in challenging environments.
-Tertiary qualifications in HSE or a related science, engineering, geology or equivalent
-Postgraduate Management studies desirable
