We are looking for highly experienced EHS Professional to join our high performing team. The ideal candidate will bring unquestioned EHS technical competency to the role and a demonstrable ability to drive Continuous Improvement and Simplification. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and driving global EHS improvement programmes and leading initiatives to build capability across PSC’s network of sites. A key attribute of the successful candidate will be the ability to identify and implement improvements to the existing global EHS systems and processes. The individual will also need to be adept at change management and steer sites through high levels of organisational changes.

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function sits above-site and is tasked with providing a safe and injury-free workplace, making people healthy and energised and protecting the environment. The function provides EHS advisory, support and guidance to ongoing site operations, central Engineering teams and Global Capital Projects (GCP) and the supply-chain operations across PSC.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

Responsibilities:

-Support delivery of PSC’s EHS Strategy through leading cross-functional teams, effective programme management and regular reporting to key stakeholders.
-Work closely with global support functions (such as GPS, Quality, Engineering, HR, etc.) and Site EHS teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement projects.
-Bring a strong ‘simplification’ and ‘continuous improvement’ mindset to existing EHS programmes like Life Saving -Rules, Living Safety, Barrier-strength verification, Maturity Models, EHS Risk Model and HiPo investigations.
-Carry out internal and external benchmarking to identify opportunities where GSK can learn from its industry peers and improve the management of severe injuries and fatalities (SIFs) prevention programmes.
-Be an expert on elements of GSKs Internal Control Framework (ICF). Develop a capability framework for key EHS roles aligned to the ICF and through interactions with sites, identify plans and resources to mitigate gaps in this framework.
-Where required, provide coaching to sites through physical or virtual Gemba, review of annual EHS plans, and sharing of success stories through Communities of Practice (CoPs) and Webinars.
-Support PSC sites to manage level of change with outcomes from the Global Safety Improvement programme, particularly the Warehouse Safety improvements and the roll-out of EHS One software solution.
-Manage contracts and relationships with external companies such as EHS expert consultants and training developers to supplement GSK’s internal resources and provide support to sites when they are stretched.
-Project-manage the development of training programmes working with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), learning consultants and ground users.
-Lead internal L1 and L2 audits for central EHS & Engineering functions and provide required support for L3 audits to sites.
-Supervise effective management of findings, RCA, CAPA, feedback and good practices from A&A and IBM audits.
-Develop processes for better sharing of learnings from incidents and near-misses between sites and help sites that are more mature on certain elements of the ICF extend their support to the less mature sites.
-Constantly explore ideas for improving existing EHS practices at site and/or Supply Chain levels and engage with the appropriate stakeholders to drive implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

-Degree qualification within appropriate subject (Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical)
-Strong background and work and experience in a pharmaceuticals / vaccines manufacturing site environment, -preferably in roles related to EHS, Engineering and Operations with demonstrated experience of leading people and implementing projects to completion
-Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
-Ability to manage multiple priorities with a commitment to delivering on-time and quality results required
-Demonstrated ability to lead CI projects
-Strong problem-solving skills
-Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office tools
-Ability to work on cross-functional, multi-disciplinary initiatives
-Ability to take strategic ideas and initiatives and drive implementation through on-ground delivery
-Self-motivated individual, with leadership ability to independently own and manage activities within guidelines
-Positive attitude, fresh perspective and eagerness to continuously improve existing systems

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Post-graduate qualification, ideally within EHS, Project Management and Risk Management
Proven experience of Warehousing / Supply & Logistics, with good awareness of EHS hazards, risks and controls in the Warehouse environment
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital and expenditure with experience of M-ERP or CERPS
Project Management certification (for example, PMP accreditation)
