Reporting to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences (Beckman Coulter Life Sciences) Vice President of DBS, the Senior Manager DBS will be a key member of the Global DBS team responsible for executing the OpCo DBS strategy to support Bec LS’s continued success in driving technology innovation and operational execution across the globe.

Drive targeted, balanced improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by demonstrating DBS tools, consulting skills, and the organizational change process.

-Be a resource for all fundamental DBS tools and key Lean tools with enough knowledge to help teams select and utilize the appropriate tool to inspire changes.
-Facilitate/participate in Kaizen events.
-Act as a mentor for the Problem Solving Process (PSP)
-Support, Action Plan creation, and follow-up.
-Develop future certified DBS practitioners in DBS tools.
-Organization and participation of Shin events.
-Apply continuous improvement methods such as Lean, problem solving, SMED, etc.
-Lead transformational change and work on identifying the greatest Lean opportunities across the various manufacturing plants/sites
-Advance Beckman Coulter Life Sciences journey of Inclusion and Diversity, and Belonging by playing the role of a Change Agent

Qualifications:

-BA/BS or equivalent in business, life science, engineering.
-5 years+ experience in Operations or Engineering, preferably in more than one area with an emphasis on process improvements. May accept less experience with a higher degree of internal Danaher experience.

Preferred Experience:

-1 year + experience within Life Science, Diagnostics, or related scientific industry preferred.
-Must have worked in a lean environment utilizing the Toyota Production method, six-sigma, or other related process improvement methodologies.

Critical competencies required:

-Continuous Improvement Practitioner (Knowledge of DBS Tools). Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture. Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.
-Critical Thinking. Decisive, able to analyze sophisticated scenarios to draw reasonable conclusions and recommend actions. Uses skills to create strategic plans for site/multi-site and complex Operating Companies
-Results Focus. Proven ability to drive balanced change through DBS, even through resistance. Clearly understands success factors, market requirements, threats, and opportunities of supported business and markets.
-Personal efficiency. Able to drive "Productive Tension" for applicable OPCO needs. Can be a voice a reason or a voice of dissent.
-Leadership and Followership. Communicates direction and vision optimally, generates onboard and support from others. Can navigate resistance without alienating others.

Physical Requirements:

-Work is performed primarily at a desk, however, prolonged periods of sitting and standing are required.
-Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines (i.e., computer, copy machine, printer, fax/scanner, projector).
-Communicates verbally and in written form with internal and external customers (i.e., coworkers, supervisors, and representatives third-party agencies); must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
-Must be able to travel globally 50% of the time.
