About This Opportunity

The Demand Planning Specialist will report into the Manager / Sr. Manager, Demand Planning - NRS and is accountable for the management routines with both the NRS and Regional Sales team to incorporate promotional and new product information to generate an operational forecast to support both supply & revenue planning.

The Demand Planning Specialist has responsibility for the management of the demand planning process for their assigned business area as part of the national S&OP process. The candidate works closely with Sales analyzing quantitative and qualitative inputs to the forecast, such as trade promotion plans, competitive impacts, new item launches and cannibalization to develop a monthly consensus demand plan (18-month horizon). This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales. The Demand Planner is the integration point with the sales and commercial organization.

Responsibilities

-Generate a baseline 18-month statistical forecast model using APO/JDA system. Determine, document and maintain all statistical parameters used to drive a ‘best fit’ model
-Connect with Sales to understand the different forecast building blocks
-Reports forecast accuracy, determine root causes for inaccurate demand plans, recommend and execute plans to improve demand plan accuracy.
-Partners with Supply Planning team to assure forecasts can be translated into actionable supply chain plans that optimize inventory and maximize customer service
-Lead continuous improvement in Demand Planning

Qualifications

-Bachelors Degree
-Minimum 3 years in supply chain / demand planning / statistical forecast or related field.
-Computer Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and mathematical computer programs and modeling techniques. Ability to apply and analyze large amounts of data for developing projections and estimates
-Forecasting: Demand: Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques and inputs (e.g., business trends, seasonality, consumption patterns)
-Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required.
-Experience in CPG environment is preferred.
-Experience working with ERP systems (JDA (Blue Yonder)/SAP APO/Oracle Demand Planning/Manugistics) and BW is preferred. Professional certificate with APICS/SCMA/Six Sigma/Lean is preferred
