Overview:

Cook/TraineeChef Stagiare is the example of our standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality. They are also responsible for the daily preparation of foods for restaurant during shifts.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Executive Chef

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Prepare food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards and photos.
· Monitor the quality and consistency of all food served from the hot and cold lines
· Coordinate all food orders between station and food servers.
· Cut all mise en place and have stations ready before service
· Keep work areas clean and organized.
· Monitor food rotation.
· Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
· Responsible for food quality, control and proper plate presentation on all lines.
· Assure the special of the day is completed in a timely fashion.
· Responsible for food requisitions, inventory/par levels.
· Perform the duties of opening and closing your assign station to include stocking and cleaning, proper storage and labeling of all items.
· Additional duties as assigned

Competencies:

Culinary degree or 2-3 years cooking experience.
· Efficient, well organized and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
· Strong team player.
· Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational

Physical Demands:


o The trainee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
o Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
o The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 45 pounds.
o Required to stand up to 8 hours daily.
